What Are Jowls?
The jowl area is the lower part of the face, at the bottom of the cheeks, that nestle the chin on either side. As time goes on and our skin begins to lose elasticity and collagen, skin laxity and volume loss will cause this area to look fleshy and droop. Some individuals are genetically predisposed to being “jowly,” while others experience it through the contributors of aging.
When it comes to improving this area of the face without adding bulk, it takes an expert hand, and we approach each patient based on your individual needs and goals. We may choose to tighten the skin, build and strengthen the structure, add contour with dermal fillers, or even dissolve fat. Results can vary based on age, quality of tissue, level of laxity, and expectations, but we take each into consideration when crafting your individual treatment plan.
