What are Pores, and Why Are Some Larger Than Others?

Pores are the opening of the hair follicle. With the oil glands in your skin in production, pores can sometimes look enlarged, giving a rough or textured appearance to otherwise smooth skin. While pore size is typically a genetic predisposition, some other factors, like sun damage and dehydrated skin, can make your skin look leathery and your pores look stretched.

There are several ways to tackle these concerns, depending on the cause of your enlarged pores. You can sometimes manage their size and appearance through a skin care regime, but other times, additional measures are required.
