Excel® V+ Laser

During your Excel® V+ laser treatment session, we will select one of Excel® V+’s two lasers and customize the treatment settings to target the color and depth of your skin concern. The high-powered laser delivers pulses of light which are then absorbed by the abnormal blood vessels in your skin, which heals them to improve the color and tone of your skin.

Many patients describe the treatment as a slight stinging sensation, but discomfort is typically minimal. This is because the Excel® V+ laser features premium sapphire contact cooling, which provides continuous cooling before, during, and after each pulse of the laser. This gives you the highest level of comfort and safety, and this cooling technology can be adjusted to address both superficial and deep concerns, depending on how aggressive your treatment needs to be to achieve results.

There is normally no downtime associated with Excel® V+ laser therapy, and most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment. However, some redness and swelling can be expected following your treatment session.

For full face treatments, swelling will peak 24 to 48 hours post-treatment, and will usually resolve within a few days. We may recommend an antihistamine to reduce swelling and discomfort if necessary. Treated brown spots will darken following treatment and will slough off within three to five days. Treated blood vessels will initially look darker and then fade away in the following days and weeks.

Many patients see results within six weeks of treatment, but it may take several months for the full effects of Excel® V+ laser treatment to be noticeable. You also may require more than one treatment session to achieve the results you desire, and we will determine the number of sessions you may require at your consultation.
